Key Responsibilities
• Align HVB pack requirements with CoC Munich. Derive and/or update appropriate safety concepts and align derived requirements with CoC components (i.e. component safety engineers (K-SV))
• Arrangement and conduction of audits and assessments on technical and process related safety issues including internal and external development partners (e.g. supplier, function development, validation)
• Ensuring that the development partners are aware of the expectation during the preparation for audits
• Evaluation of safety relevant designs and validation reports together with the developers. Design recommendation to the development in the ongoing development process
• Giving release recommendation concerning safety requirements to the lead engineer or project leader
• Perform risk analysis for each release recommendation concerning safety requirements and verification results to the lead engineer or project leader
• Development of test descriptions, review of test specifications, monitoring of test execution and documentation of test results related to safety requirements
• Responsible for proving all safety relevant requirements are fulfilled. If target achievement is in danger, escalation to the lead engineer or project leader has to be done
• Technical leadership of project engineers and suppliers in HV battery safety issues
• Coaching of foreign and ***** associates on HV battery safety relevant processes and technical solutions
• Coordination of external service partners / suppliers
• Conducting Safety analysis D-FMEA, S-FMEA, FMEDA, Hazard- and Riskanalysis, Fault Tree Analysis
• Developing functional and technical safety concepts
• Other contingent tasks and projects assigned by line manager
Qualifications
Electrical / Systems engineering, information technology or similar background (Dipl.-Ing., M.Sc./M.Eng. etc.) Expert on HV safety Expert on functional safety Working experience for several years in HV safety
Good knowledge of electric- and hybrid-electric vehicles
Detailed knowledge of HV-batteries or other key-components in EVs and PHEVs
Detailed knowledge in safety realted development fields (technology and process)
Outstanding working quality concerning reliability, methodology, accuracy
Good communication skills
Fluent in English language
Basic Chinese language knowledge appriciated
Act independently and on one’s own initiative
Analytic and working method, also during work under pressure
Willingness to travelling inside China and trips to Munich
Knowledge of safety analysis like D-FMEA, S-FMEA, FMEDA, hazard- and riskanalysis, fault tree analysis
Knowledge of HV safety / working safety at EVs and PHEVs
Knowledge of software engineering techniques is appreciated
Stear technical discussions
Leading of other people to reach targets as a team
Detailed knowledge of all standards listed above
Working as engineer in testing, validation and function/software development 1-3 Years
Working in the automotive development for powertrain or vehicle electronics 4-6 Years
Working with safety related standards/requirements (see list above) 4-6 Years
Working experience with high voltage systems like HV batteries and E-motors, electric energy converters and bus communication 4-6 Years
Conducting of Safety analysis D-FMEA, S-FMEA, FMEDA, Hazard- and Riskanalysis, Fault Tree Analysis 1-3 Years
