SUMMARY
The Photo Retoucher creates, designs and assists all company designers with photography retouching maintaining integrity of predetermined photo style and brand essence. May assist in estimating retouching costs, overseeing work done by external suppliers, and preparing proofs for review by packaging and marketing creative teams. This role has knowledge of commonly used techniques, best practices, and procedures within the retouching field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision of the Post-Production Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
61 Responsible for image compositing and manipulation of all levels and complexity
61 Responsible for global image consistency across all brands and all levels of complexity
61 Works directly with product designers, package designers, marketing creative designers, product management, & engineering teams in US and Asia.
61 Interfaces/coordinates with all related departments (i.e., Marketing Creative, Packaging, Trend and Surface, Product Managers, Product Design, Development, Engineering, etc.) directly
61 Coordinates and maintains the consistent retouching of packaging, digital & marketing imagery to meet Kids II global and brand strategy objectives.
61 Researches and develops unique retouching processes, on brand and within deadlines.
61 Responsible for meeting time-line requirements for all product lines, adhering to style guides and maintaining schedule milestones to support cost-sensitive production. Must be trusted to sustain all departmental written communication.
61 Responsible for creating prints and/or proofs of images for presentations to design teams and upper management.
61 Quality control on all requests, fixing images as needed to meet direction or needs.
61 Responsible for retouching of images in the timeframes requested for each project.
61 Handles multiple projects and/or specific departmental needs simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
61 3 - 5 years job experience in the juvenile products, toy industry or consumer product goods company
61 Adobe Illustrator and in studio photo art direction a bonus
61 Experience working with creative teams within a fast-paced, corporate environment.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
61 BFA in Graphic Design (or related field)
61 Expert in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge (5+ years).
61 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
61 Detail-oriented dialogue about the properties of a given image a must.
61 Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
61 Must have the ability to work effectively in fast-paced high-energy creative group.
61 Ability to problem solve.
61 Ability to work independently with little supervision.
61 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
