Job Description – Product02Development02Manager
1.Conceptualize new product to a definitive level leading to engineering interface in the New Product Process – to lead concept development for in-house initiatives and to support development where external design or specialist consultants are engaged as part of the project team.
2.Responsible for product market research, information collection and new product planning.
3.Through market research, carry out market feedback and consumer and making product enhancement on the existing products to improve product performance.
4.Understand the industrial design information of the industry, provide the latest information to support the renewal of products, and ensure that the new products can meet the market demand.
5.Perform and/or coordinate with project team all new product development activities – evaluation of new materials and processes including stress analysis using engineering tools, concept testing using relevant modeling software, visual and functional prototype fabrication and testing, design reliability and standards compliance testing, evaluation of form, fit and function and FMEA.
6.Interface with Product Engineer for BOM development and preparation of engineering drawings and documentation to support tooling, manufacturing and ordering.
7.Work with relevant Costing personnel to establish preliminary costing for new products to check against target cost and price objectives as determined by Project Brief.
8.Work with Purchasing on sourcing of new materials, processes and technologies, and the vendors or suppliers associated with these new sourcing initiatives.
9.Assist in development and preparation of materials and tools related to new product development for in-house training to Sales/Operations and/or external presentations.
10.Irregularly review all technical documents to ensure that all technical specifications are updated in a timely manner, accurate, and applicable.
11.Complete other tasks assigned by the company and the superior leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree or above in Product Design or Industrial Design (full-time program).
2.Fluent in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
3.A portfolio of work must be provided to demonstrate excellent design capabilities.
Experience & Skills:
1.Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience. Experience in the furniture industry is preferred.
2.Proficient in design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with the ability to independently create and review engineering drawings.
